Knowledge You Should Know About Heat Transfer Printing

Applied to the printing of novelty items earlier, such as T-shirts, polyester tops, etc., heat transfer printing has now enjoyed great popularity in a variety of industries, the apparel industry in particular. It can be applied to a wide range of products, including T-shirts, sports apparel, jackets, caps, swimsuits, tote bags, crystals &rhinestones, chips, ceramic tiles, displays, signage, banners, metals, wood, mugs, etc.

Heat transfer printing transfers a design to a substrate based on an intermediate step. The patterns are printed onto the heat-resistant base film beforehand through the release treatment and then transferred to the product surface by lettering via the specialized transfer printing equipment.

The heat transfer technology is composed of two parts, namely, Transfer Film Printing and Transfer Printing Processing.

Transfer Film Printing adopts dot printing, whose resolution rate reaches as high as 300dpi. The patterns are printed onto the surface of the thin film beforehand, with rich layers, brilliant colors, changeable appearance as well as small color difference and great reproducibility. This can meet the requirements of the designers. Additionally, it is applicable for mass production.

Transfer Printing Processing transfers the elegant patterns on the transfer printing film to the product surface via the primary processing that is subjected to high temperature and pressure by the heat transfer machine. The ink layer will be absorbed into the product surface after forming, which can greatly improve the grade of the products with a lifelike effect and pretty appearance.
