When sustainability becomes a core issue in the global supply chain, SBS recognizes that carbon reduction is a “question” we must answer.
1. Multiple challenges of traditional carbon reduction model
At the beginning of responding to the green initiatives of its key partner, SBS clearly recognized the challenges involved. The goals were high, timelines tight, and carbon reduction required major investment. Complex plans were hard to implement, and technical experts were in short supply. Stricter approval for photovoltaic projects, obstacles to self-built energy paths, limited bargaining space of energy giants and complex procurement procedures. Relying fully on external service providers made it hard to balance technological reliability and cost — turning emission reduction into added risk.
2. Green electricity centralized procurement: from “technical challenge” to “one-click ordering”
To effectively break through bottlenecks and accelerate the green transition, SBS has deeply participated in the green electricity centralized procurement project organized and coordinated by Decathlon. By consolidating purchase volumes on the platform, cost controllability has significantly improved, processes have been simplified, and approval timelines shortened. Green electricity procurement is simplified, full-chain data traceability enhances customer trust, clean energy application at scale, driving the share of PPA purchases to 70%, achieving an integrated breakthrough in cost reduction, efficiency improvement, and value creation.
3. Green electricity centralized procurement drives future development
Carbon reduction is not simply a cost input but also an opportunity to reshape enterprise competitiveness. The green electricity centralized procurement project provides us with a strong platform. According to the plan, SBS’s power structure will be upgraded to a combination of “70% green electricity centralized procurement + solar power generation + green certificates,” achieving 100% green electricity sourcing. This means that every SBS zipper in the future will be produced using green energy, truly realizing a win-win of economic benefits and social responsibility.
We look forward to the green electricity centralized procurement project becoming a “green win-win bond” that connects us with many customers, building a sustainable business ecosystem together and making green competitiveness the core driving force of enterprise development.
